Linker Hand O30

Exact model / version: Linker Hand O30

LinkerbotProducts checked: Source-reported stage: Current official navigation/page and dedicated ROS 2 repository; direct-drive hand

Selected Product Technical Facts

  • Identity and intended applications: A direct-drive hand with 20 fully active degrees of freedom, marketed for dexterous-manipulation research, model training and precision manufacturing. The name O30 is not a count of 30 active joints, and O20/L30 Pro specifications are not substituted. O30 page.
  • Source-reported mechanics: Mass 730 g, maximum load 30 kg, maximum power 150 W, repeatability +/- 0.20 mm, opening/closing time 0.8 s, maximum thumb-fingertip force 24 N, other fingertips 30 N, maximum five-finger grasping force 70 N. Full load and accuracy test conditions are not supplied. The stated maximum load is not generalized to continuous grasping in arbitrary poses. O30 page.
  • Power and communication: The page lists DC 24-48 V, CAN / CAN FD and communication frequency 500 Hz. The dedicated O30 ROS 2 repository describes the CAN FD HOP protocol; its README reports validated protocol versions v0.0.2, v0.0.3 and v0.0.4, not independent validation by Kovantiq. It supports libcanbus and SocketCAN USB-CAN FD backends; select the backend for the actual adapter/hardware.
  • Software versions and startup behavior: The dedicated README specifies Ubuntu 22.04, ROS 2 Humble and Python 3.10+, with control/state represented as 20-joint data. It lists V3.0.1, while a repository filename refers to release_3.0.2.txt; neither is silently selected as the delivered software revision. Pin an exact commit/release. The documented power-on self-test and default automatic initial pose require review before integration. The 30 Hz tactile topic depends on optional fingertip sensors and launch configuration; it is neither standard on every O30 nor the same as the 500 Hz communication figure. Dedicated SDK. The reviewed source check is dated October 10, 2026; hardware/software compatibility was not independently tested.

Company Integration & Application Notes

The reviewed record contains three full technical blocks (O6, O30 and Humanoid V2) and supplemental facts for L20 Lite, L20, Arm P7 and Arm H75. Other profiles identify products/configurations and buyer checks without a detailed parameter set. Do not infer capability from model numbers or copy sibling specifications. Product pages state that parameters vary by application, configuration and version.

L20 Lite and L20 have distinct active/passive configurations. The SDK's L20 V10 (G20) pressure-sensing name does not identify the current website L20 configuration. L30 Pro's URL contains LinkerHandL30, while the L30 SDK uses L30 V6 in examples; their hardware/firmware equivalence is unconfirmed. A shared URL or family name is not an SDK compatibility matrix. L20 Lite, L20, L30 Pro.

Linker Open TeleDex describes modular master-side gloves/exoskeleton/VR and slave-side dexterous hands/collaborative arms, without an exact combination-model or reproducible interface matrix. Confirm LMCG1-01, LFFG1-02/03 and LTA1-02 hardware versions, communication latency and target-robot mapping individually. Teleoperation and data-collection labels do not establish synchronized operation for an arbitrary combination.

Cross-model compatibility and application claims require a selected hand side, tactile option, controller, flange, power setup and SDK release, supported by supplier documents and actual-system tests. Common bus names alone do not establish mechanical, electrical, protocol, kinematic or safety compatibility. Series-level application descriptions are not acceptance results for each listed configuration.

Before You Evaluate or Order

  1. Confirm the delivered O30 revision, hand side, optional fingertip sensors and matching HOP protocol version, then pin the SDK commit/release and CAN FD backend/adapter.
  2. Request the power, connector and mounting documents, and review power-on self-test/default initial-pose behavior before integrating the device.
  3. Agree representative 20-joint manipulation, load, force and repeatability tests; request full conditions behind the maximum-load claim.
  4. Validate the 500 Hz communication figure separately from the optional 30 Hz tactile topic under the selected sensor and launch configuration.

These points require confirmation for your intended purchase and application. Missing public information does not imply a product deficiency.
